Dayton Miami Valley AFL-CIO

The Regional Labor Council supports voter registration and education efforts, screens candidates and endorses those (Democrat, Republican or Independent) whose positions are favorable to working people.  We hold (GOTV) Get Out To Vote drives and involve our locals and their members in the activities.  Council lobbies and assists local affiliates on issues of concern and interest regarding worker needs and job security.  The leadership of this council was instrumental in lobbying the Ohio Legislature to adopt and pass a resolution making the date of April 28 official Workers Memorial Day in the state.  Ohio was the second state in the nation to pass such legislation.
